Jonathan has spoken at a wide range of events from football conferences to literary festivals. He has delivered lectures for several universities and football associations across the world and been invited to fireside chats and dinners for multiple organisations including financial services firms, charities and think-tanks.
Recent highlights have included events at Canning House (pictured here: on the left is Uruguay's ambassador to the UK Luis Bermúdez; on the right is the former Lib Dem minister for Europe and the Americas, the CEO of Canning House, Jeremy Browne); conferences in Budapest, Jyväskalä, Odense and Antalya; and talks at the Black Country Healthcare NHS Trust and HMP Deerbolt.
He has been a guest at literary and history festivals in Oxford, Cheltenham, Newcastle, Guernsey, Chalke Valley and Derby.
Panellist and Chair
Jonathan has been a regular panellist at live events for The Blizzard, Football Weekly and Second Captains at venues across the UK and Ireland, as well as in Oslo and Copenhagen.
Jonathan has chaired events for FairSquare and Seven Dials.

Lecturer
He has lectured at Brigham Young University, the University of Utah, the University of Regensburg and the University of Derby. Jonathan delivered a talk at the University of Cambridge in February as part of the Footnotes series, in conjunction with Cambridge United in February 2026.
